HEATH MOVE INTO THIRD ROUND

Heath strolled through their rearranged County Cup second round tie and managed to rest some of their players whilst giving valuable game time to others who needed it and in the process put together a fair performance to move into the next round and a home tie against East Preston on the 13th December.

From the start Heath pressed forward with their five man midfield overrunning their opponents and it wasn't long before the Fern keeper was being kept busy as Rob Cooper was causing chaos down the left and new signing Bastien Meynard was pushing forward down the right as he impressed on his Heath debut, as John White was busy everywhere on the pitch. The first goal arrived on 20 minutes as Daley Clark coolly slotted past the keeper into the bottom corner of the net after moving clear of a defender. Five minutes later the lead was doubled and again it was Clark showing poise as he was played in by a stunning through ball by Louis Wright that totally wrong footed the defence and the resulting one on one left the keeper picking the ball out of the net again. Heath then proceeded to create chance after chance that they couldn't quite finish and a minute before half time the home fans were silenced when a bouncing ball was misjudged and Fern scored. Heath went straight down the other end and Dean Pitcher came close to restoring the two goal cushion but shot just wide as the half ended.

It took ten minutes of the second half before Heath got their third goal when Matt Kelly scored in successive games as stayed up in the Fern area after a corner that wasn't cleared properly, and when the second cross was centered he swiveled and lashed a powerful left foot shot past the keeper. It was all Heath now and 5 minutes later Dean Pitcher made it four as he drifted past a couple of defenders and gave the keeper no chance as he clinically placed the ball in the bottom corner from the edge of the box. Heath then made a series of substitutions but this didn't stop the constant flow of chances being created as they continued passing the ball neatly throughout the whole team, although they narrowly failed to convert any of them, but the victory was assured and 4-1 was the final score.

This Saturday Heath are looking for a vital three points when they are back in League action as they entertain Dorking at Hanbury Stadium with a 2.00pm kick off, everyone is welcome with under 16s watching for free.
