HEATH NEED TWO MORE WINS

The battle of the "heaths" was comfortably won by Town as they won the first of their three remaining matches that if they win them all will lead to promotion to Senior Football, and boosted their goal difference in the process which may yet prove a decisive factor.

A blustery wind made life difficult but didn't unduly worry Heath who played their normal passing game and spent most of the first half in the Broadbrige end of the pitch creating chances that weren't quite able to be converted. It wasn't until half way through the first period that Heath opened their account when Mark Beard emphatically curled a free kick into the top corner of the net giving the keeper no chance. Heath pushed on and then just before halftime quickly notched a "Cooper Double" as first Kevin Cooper scored to continue with his goal per game run, and then Rob Cooper ghosted past a defender before driving the ball into the corner of the net.

The second half was comfortable for the visitors as they played into the wind and still created chances at regular intervals, then took the opportunity to use their substitutes to give players a rest, and in the last ten minutes two of the subs got on the score sheet, when first young whippet Adam Wright confidently lashed a loose ball into the top corner for his first goal for the team, and then Eric Tsvale volleyed the fifth goal home from a corner that wasn’t cleared.

All in all a confident and controlled performance from Town and they now know that if they win their two remaining games, both away from home, promotion will be assured to go with the recently won cup, which will cap a successful season.

This week Heath are away at Saltdean on Tuesday evening 7.45pm kick off, and their last game of the season is at Newhaven on Saturday with a 3.00pm kick off. All support will be most welcomed and appreciated at both games.
